Leeds waiting on duo

Leeds could hand late fitness tests to leading goalscorer Ross McCormack and goalkeeper Paddy Kenny for the home game against Blackburn.

McCormack scored his 18th goal of the season in Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest, but was substituted as a precaution late on due to tight hamstrings while Kenny played the full 90 minutes despite sustaining an ankle injury in the opening exchanges.

Teenage midfielder Alex Mowatt, rested for the last two matches, is expected to return to the squad and Gboly Ariyibi is hoping to feature again after making his debut for the club at Forest.

Defender Sam Byram is pushing for his first start since December 7 after stepping off the bench in the last two matches.

Gary Bowyer is keeping his fingers crossed over the availability of Blackburn pair Josh King and David Dunn.

Former Manchester United winger King missed the 3-2 loss to Birmingham because of a back strain but is expected to train on Tuesday while long-serving midfielder Dunn (hamstring) has a slight strain and could return.

Dunn's comeback in the middle of midfield would be particularly welcome for a Rovers side who will be without Jason Lowe after he picked up a fifth caution of the season right before the Football League's amnesty.

Full-back Todd Kane (thigh) will miss out while Corry Evans (ankle) is still considered a couple of weeks away from returning, meaning he will remain absent along with Paul Robinson (back) and Dickson Etuhu (ankle).
