Redfearn keeps cards close to chest

Leeds manager Neil Redfearn has "one or two niggles" to contend with and could make changes as his side chases a first league win in seven matches.

Redfearn did not specify which players were struggling with knocks but could recall midfielders Alex Mowatt, Adryan and Tomasso Bianchi, or striker Mirco Antenucci, who were all left out of the starting line-up in last week's draw at Bolton.

Defender Jason Pearce and striker Billy Sharp are pushing for recalls, while Charlie Taylor will resume at left-back following the departure of Stephen Warnock this week to Derby.

Redfearn must also decide whether to stick with Sam Byram in a more advanced position on the right wing as Leeds bid to avoid a third straight home league defeat.

Birmingham have no fresh injury worries for their trip to Elland Road.

Jonathan Spector is close to a return after a torn thigh muscle having been an unused substitute in last week's win against Wigan.

Gavin Gunning and Matt Green (both knee) remain sidelined as they continue to fight back from their long-term lay-offs.

Boss Gary Rowett said: "They are all coming along quite nicely but I don't think any of those just at the minute are that close to being back in the fold."
