Bianchi set for Leeds bow

Leeds midfielder Tomasso Bianchi could make his first competitive appearance for the club in the Capital One Cup tie at home to Accrington.

The Italian, a permanent summer signing from Sassuolo and central to coach Dave Hockaday's plans, missed the opening-day league defeat at Millwall through a suspension carried over from last season.

Hockaday must decide whether to include Steve Morison in his squad. The striker missed out against his former club on Saturday due to a calf strain and may be ruled out again with a view to returning next weekend.

Two more summer signings, midfielder Zan Benedicic and defender Gaetano Berardi, are hoping to make their club bows, while winger Aidy White (ankle) and midfielder Lewis Walters (knee) remain sidelined.

Accrington boss James Beattie may be tempted to shuffle his pack in the wake of Saturday's 1-0 loss to Southend.

Striker James Alabi, signed on loan from Stoke last week, could find himself involved from the start after making a late substitute appearance against the Shrimpers.

Goalkeeper Luke Simpson looks set to continue in goal despite competition from Jay Lynch while teenage midfielder Connor Martin may get his first taste of action since joining from Rochdale.

Fellow new signing Adam Buxton will also be looking to retain his place in defence after playing 90 minutes at the weekend.
