Leeds to announce new coach

Sky Bet Championship side Leeds have called a press conference for 3pm on Wednesday to announce their new head coach.

Former Brentford and Wigan boss Uwe Rosler is reportedly the latest man tasked with turning the club's fortunes around, with Neil Redfearn, who was criticised by Italian owner Massimo Cellino last week, not having his contract renewed.

Executive director Adam Pearson will be at the unveiling but Cellino is not expected to be present.

The new man will be Cellino's fifth head coach since the controversial Italian became owner in April 2014.

Cellino sacked Brian McDermott and installed the relatively unknown Dave Hockaday as head coach in June 2014, later replacing him with Darko Milanic and then promoting Redfearn from his role with the Academy with the club in the lower reaches of the table.

Redfearn saved Leeds from relegation but his future remained the subject of intense speculation, with Cellino's decision to dismiss his assistant Steve Thompson without warning in April increasing uncertainty over his own tenure.

His contract was due to expire on June 30 but Redfearn now looks certain to make an early exit.
