Wolves striker Andy Keogh has told manager Mick McCarthy he 100% wants to sign for Leeds on a permanent basis once his loan expires early next month.
It is Keogh's third loan spell away from Molineux, after playing for Cardiff and Bristol City last season, since his last appearance for Wolves 16 months ago.
And with his loan expiring on January 2, he told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "I love the club and in an ideal world I'd like to stay."
Keogh feels he has fallen so far out of favour under McCarthy his only chance of salvaging his career is to leave the club he joined for £600,000 from Scunthorpe almost five years ago.
The 25-year-old Republic of Ireland international, who started out as a trainee at Leeds in 2003, added: "It's up to the club (Leeds), and my agent will start speaking to them soon and to Wolves to see what the story is and we'll just go from there. I'll listen to what they have to say.
"Leeds is a great club. It's the first club I signed for as a youngster and holds a place in my heart. I'm really enjoying my time here and it's a great dressing room. We've also a really good chance of going up."
Construction chiefs, meanwhile, have been forced to apologise to Wolves fans for their failure to complete the roof over the Stan Cullis Stand in time for the new year.
Buckingham Group, who began the £16million reconstruction in May, were due to have the roof in place by the end of this month. However, season-ticket holders in that stand have now been told they will have to wait until February to be covered, meaning another four matches open to the elements.
In a statement director Kevin Underwood said: "We sincerely regret the unavoidable delay and assure supporters we're doing everything possible to overcome the difficulties we've suffered.
"Very strong winds, which aren't always noticeable at ground level, have slowed progress significantly. However, we're doing everything possible to pull time back and we don't anticipate any delay with the summer 2012 handover of the stand."
