Jermaine Watch: Amongst The Goals
Everton striker Jermaine Beckford is delighted to be amongst the goals in pre-season. The former Leeds United star struck twice in the friendly win over Preston North End. Beckford told Evertonian magazine: "It is always nice to get the first one out of the way and get the pressure off. Hopefully I will be able to get a few more in pre-season and carry the form on." Both Beckford's goals at Deepdale were well taken, the first a composed finish and the second an expertly-executed volley. "It was a great cross from Louis (Saha) and I just peeled off and volleyed it in," he recalled. "The reception from the fans was amazing, I can't wait to play the first game at Goodison now."
