Jonny Howson believes Leeds got their tactics right during their third-round FA Cup draw at Arsenal.
Leeds were denied by Cesc Fabregas's late penalty after Robert Snodgrass had given them a shock lead with a spot-kick of his own in the 54th minute and although the visitors had to soak up plenty of pressure they still posed a threat on the counter.
Howson told Press Association Sport: "Each game is different, we played to the conditions and how it was going.
"With the attacking threats that Arsenal possess, sometimes you have to be a bit more cautious, but I thought we defended them pretty well.
"It's always hard when you concede late on. It feels like a defeat in a way, but all the lads can be proud of themselves, it was a tremendous effort.
"With a couple of minutes to go I thought we'd done it, but they have quality players who go right to the end."
