Leeds midfielder Jonny Howson has been included in Stuart Pearce's provisional 40-man squad for this summer's 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Denmark. Howson, 22, made his debut for the Under-21s when he stepped off the bench in a 1-0 defeat in Italy in February. Six of Pearce's strong squad have all previously appeared for the England senior team - Andy Carroll, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere, Jordan Henderson, Micah Richards and Kieran Gibbs. The England Under-21 squad, who finished runners-up in 2009, head to Denmark on June 8 to continue their preparations for the two-week tournament.
