Grimsby hope to get Sweeney back

Grimsby Town manager Mike Newell is hoping to lure Leeds midfielder Peter Sweeney back to the club. The 24-year-old spent the end of last season on loan with the Mariners, playing eight times as the club avoided relegation from the Football League. Newell said: "I've spoken to Sweens a few times and had a chat earlier this week, and he hasn't ruled anything out. "Obviously midfield is a priority and Peter is certainly a player we'd like to bring in." The former Millwall player has also had spells with Stoke, Yeovil and Walsall.
