Leeds manager Simon Grayson declared himself pleased after watching two key players return to reserve team action after lengthy injury lay-offs.

Billy Paynter and Ben Parker both completed 45 minutes on their return from injury on Tuesday and the watching Grayson was pleased with what he saw.

"It was always our intentions for Ben and Billy to play the opening 45 minutes," he told the club's official website.

"It's the start of the recovery for them both and I was pleased with them and how they came through. It's a slow process, particularly in Ben's case, given that he hasn't had a lot of football over the past year or so, but we'll keep arranging games."

Parker has not played since April while Paynter is yet to make his competitive Leeds debut since his move from Swindon in the summer.
