Grayson Looks At Blades Targets

Leeds United are looking to sign some of Sheffield United's star players but could be thwarted by a new era of prudence at Elland Road. Nick Montgomery, the Blades influential midfielder, is understood to be Simon Grayson's top target as Kevin Blackwell's opposite number plots his own revamp after securing promotion from League One. Jamie Ward, United's exciting young winger, is another name on Grayson's wanted-list. But Leeds' refusal to continue their pursuit of Chris Morgan when it became apparent that he had been awarded a one year contract extension by Blackwell's side could be telling. Ken Bates has pledged Grayson his backing but warned he must also live within his means. Montgomery is seen as attainable given that he could cost nothing.
