Grayson frustrated in loan quest

Leeds manager Simon Grayson has endured a frustrating fortnight in the loan market after failing to sign any of his transfer targets.

Grayson has made no secret of his desire to strengthen his squad for the run-in and has subsequently been linked with Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson and latterly Aston Villa's Barry Bannan.

He said: "It's been a frustrating couple of weeks if I'm being honest. The circumstances have changed since I said I was confident of bringing someone in.

"We had deals which were arranged that are now not there at this moment in time because players are playing in their first teams. I'm not complaining about that because it shows the quality of the players we had identified.

"I could easily go out and sign a player but I've always said I'm not signing for signings sake. I'm only looking at the top end of the market for players who can make us better and I honestly believe there isn't many of those about."
