Former Senegal World Cup star Amdy Faye is hoping to earn a permanent deal with Leeds.

The 33-year-old midfielder, who has been training at Thorp Arch for the past week, will turn out for the club's reserves against Grimsby on Tuesday.

Manager Simon Grayson said: "Amdy trained with us at the back end of last week and again on Monday.

"He's got plenty of good experience and he's done ok. He'll play on Tuesday and we'll have a look at his fitness levels."

Faye, who counts Portsmouth, Newcastle, Charlton and Rangers among his former clubs, left Stoke in the summer after injury had restricted him to just one appearance last season.

Faye has played 31 times for his country, making two appearances during the 2002 World Cup.
