Carlisle have completed the permanent signing of central defender Lubo Michalik from Leeds. The Slovakia international, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Brunton Park, has signed an 18-month deal with the Cumbrians after having his contract at Leeds terminated by mutual respect. The 27-year-old joined Leeds after an initial loan spell from Bolton for £500,000 in January 2008, but could not hold down a first-team place under Simon Grayson. Michalik joined Carlisle on loan in August this year and has made 13 starts for Greg Abbott's side.
