Martin Cranie has been given an extended opportunity to earn himself a permanent switch to Leeds after joining the squad in Norway.

Neil Warnock had initially said he would review the player's position after the trip to the south-west but the former Coventry and Portsmouth centre-half has travelled to Norway with the squad.

Absentees from the trip include injured duo Paddy Kenny and Luciano Becchio, while Ramon Nunez has also remained behind.

Warnock, technical director Gwyn Williams and central defender Tom Lees will join up with the squad on Wednesday afternoon ahead of the game with Sandefjord.

Former Portsmouth midfielder David Norris will make his debut against the Norwegians, while fellow midfield man Rodolph Austin could join him in the United ranks at Preston on Saturday.
