Beckford's Void To Be Filled

Simon Grayson is continuing to search for a replacement for striker Jermaine Beckford. New signing Billy Paynter from Swindon Town has been ruled out of the start of the Championship campaign, leaving Grayson short of forward options. And last season's 31-goal void left by Beckford's departure to Everton is Grayson's highest priority to replace. "Billy is a good acquisition but, with him out, we're a little bit short of numbers," he told The Mail on Sunday. "Don't assume I'm not trying to get somebody else in. I told people our business wasn't finished. We're still talking to clubs about players."
