Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford has been taken off the transfer list.Beckford, 25, was the League One side's top scorer last season but was made available in May after turning down the offer of a new contract. Manager Simon Grayson told the club website: "We didn't want to lose him. He is happy here. "If he runs his contract down and leaves on a free then we'll have to run with that, but our ambition is to keep him, get promoted and be successful." Beckford scored 34 goals in all competitions for Leeds last season as they lost out to Millwall in the League One play-off semi-finals. The former Scunthorpe loanee, who has one year left on his contract, had been attracting interest from three unnamed clubs. He caught the eye in 2005/06, scoring 35 goals in 40 games for Wealdstone before Leeds swooped for the forward, who had also interested Chelsea. Grayson added: "You can never stop rumours, but once the transfer window shuts in August there's nothing can be done about it."
