Becchio at the double

27 July 2010 20:30
Argentinian striker Luciano Becchio netted twice as Leeds eased to a 3-1 victory over SK Brann. Becchio, once again playing alone down the middle, opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a header after good play between Lloyd Sam and Robert Snodgrass, who was stretched off the field shortly afterwards. But Leeds doubled their advantage from the resulting free-kick with Neil Kilkenny`s delivery being converted by Sam from close range. Bradley Johnson and Kilkenny were denied by the crossbar before the Norwegians pulled a goal back through Cato Hansen on the stroke of half-time. However, Leeds restored their two-goal cushion in the 57th minute when Becchio claimed his second from Kilkenny`s lay-off.
