Serie A basement sitters Lecce on Sunday fired coach Eusebio Di Francesco and replaced him with Serse Cosmi.

Di Francesco, who had only been hired at the start of the season, became the eighth coaching casualty of the Serie A season.

Cosmi last coached in February and March when he had a four-game spell at Palermo, beating AC Milan but losing three out of four matches.

Already this season, Cagliari are on their third coach, Davide Ballardini, having previously sacked former Italy boss Roberto Donadoni and Massimo Ficcadenti.

Last month Sinisa Mihajlovic was shown the door by Fiorentina, replaced by Delio Rossi, while at Cesena Daniele Arrigoni took over from Marco Giampaolo.

Devis Mangia took over at Palermo before the season started, replacing Stefano Pioli, who reappeared at Bologna after they had got rid of Pierpaolo Bisoli.

And Gian Piero Gasperini's spot as Inter Milan coach went to Claudio Ranieri.
