Lazio and Germany striker Miroslav Klose could miss the rest of the Serie A season because of a thigh injury, according to reports in the Germany daily Bild on Thursday.

"I don't yet know if I will be able to play again this season," said Klose, who has scored 13 league goals for Lazio since moving to Rome last summer.

Klose, 33, suffered the injury in training on March 22.

He underwent tests in Germany with renowned sports doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt on Tuesday which revealed an injury to his left thigh.

However, he tried to play down suggestions that the injury could put his participation at this summer's European Championship in Poland and Ukraine in doubt.

"I have spoken with Doctor Muller-Wohlfahrt, I have plenty of time to recover," Klose said.

"The healing process is going well and I should be ok for the Euros."

Klose could be sorely missed by Lazio, though, with the Rome club currently sitting in third place in the Serie A table and chasing Champions League qualification.
