Lazio chief refuses to panic

Lazio president Claudio Lotito is refusing to press the panic button despite his team's poor start to the season.

Davide Ballardini's side have failed to win a game since August and have been barracked by their own fans but Lotito remains upbeat.

"We have already won the Supercoppa Italiana this season, but we cannot deny that we have gone off on a tangent," he told L'Espresso.

"We have been playing every three days, and we have not had the time to recover. However, the league is still long, and so our objectives remain unchanged.

"There is a small minority at Lazio who try to overshadow the majority who have remained silent.

"These are people who try to tarnish our image because they want to preserve antique traditions."

After 11 games of the Serie A season, Lazio are 15th in the table after winning only twice.
