Ballardini shrugs off sack talk

Defiant Lazio coach Davide Ballardini insists he is not concerned by reports that he is on the verge of being axed by the Serie A strugglers.

The Rome club slipped to 18th place in the table after losing 1-0 at home to Catania on Sunday and reports in the Italian media claim that former Napoli coach Edy Reja is being lined up as Ballardini's replacement.

"Do I risk the sack? I don't know anything," he declared. "Do these rumours bother me? Absolutely not."

Lazio have won just just two of their last 15 games under Ballardini.
