Inofrmation is unclear as to the date the team were formed as is was either 1902 or 1905 but the club then reformed in 1911. The club played in the Lancashire combination league right up until the first world war. The team applied and were turned down for membership to the Fottball league in 1921 but the club were not put off by this and managed to win the combination league the very next season.
