    Koreans held by Senegal

South Korea began their World Cup warm-up programme with a 1-1 draw against Senegal in Seoul on Tuesday.

Kim Do-Heon fired the hosts ahead in the 74th minute, but a long-range strike from Moussa Ndiaye five minutes later ensured the match finished level.

South Korea coach Dick Advocaat was satisfied with his side's display, but admitted there was a lot of room for improvement.

"I was very happy with the game because we are, as you know, in the middle of preparations for Germany," said the Dutchman.

"It was an excellent exercise for us especially on the physical side.

"Defensively we made some mistakes but we still have three weeks to find out, and we will find out, the reason.

"We all know we like to win, but in this period everything is related to the first game in Germany (against Togo)."

Manchester United's Park Ji-Sung and Tottenham's Lee Young-Pyo were rested against Senegal, but are likely to return for the forthcoming friendlies against Bosnia-Herzegovina, Norway and Ghana.
