Soldo to take reins at Koln

Koln have appointed Zvonimir Soldo as their new coach following the departure of Christoph Daum.

Daum resigned two weeks ago to return to Turkish football with Fenerbahce and Soldo has now been confirmed in the RheinEnergieStadion hot-seat.

The 41-year-old Croat guided former club Dinamo Zagreb to a league and cup double before stepping down at the end of the previous season.

The former Stuttgart player, who will be assisted by Michael Henke, has been handed a two-year contract by the Bundesliga club.
