Buchtmann returns to Germany

FC Koln have signed teenage midfielder Christopher Buchtmann from Fulham.

Buchtmann only moved to Fulham from Liverpool in January but has been allowed to return to Germany.

"We are very pleased that we were able, after long negotiations, to complete the transfer of Christopher Buchtmann, especially since there were some rivals from the Bundesliga," said general manager Michael Meier.

"Christopher is a promising player. He gained some experience with Fulham and he has also been successful with the German youth teams.

"Christopher Buchtmann is a versatile player who can be used in midfield defensively and offensively."
