Wotherspoon extends stay at Hibs

Hibernian's David Wotherspoon has signed a two-year contract extension to keep him at the club until June 2013.The 19-year-old has become a first team regular this season, fitting in at right back, although his preferred position is in midfield. [LNB]"It's an exciting club to be at, so I'll just keep working as hard as I can to keep playing first team football," Wotherspoon told the club website. [LNB]"The club has given me a great opportunity and I love it here." [LNB]Wotherspoon has made successful transition from Hibs' all-conquering under-19 side, scoring on his debut against St Mirren on the opening day of the Scottish Premier League campaign. [LNB]And his performances were rewarded with a Scotland Under-21 debut in Azerbaijan last month. [LNB]Easter Road manager John Hughes added: "This is brilliant news for the club and I am personally delighted for David. [LNB]"Although he has just broken into the first team this season, he has been one of our most consistent performers.
