We have to take chances - Hamill

27 November 2009 15:34
Kilmarnock have lost their last three SPL games to Rangers, Dundee United and Celtic and another defeat to Hearts at home on Saturday could leave them bottom of the table if Falkirk and Hamilton get positive results.[LNB]Hamill is reluctant to countenance that but accepts only goals can help them escape from the wrong end of the table[LNB]"It has been a tough run of late but if you look back at some of the matches, we've had chances," said the midfielder.[LNB]"We are not taking those chances when we are on top in games, while other teams are taking their chances against us.[LNB]"If you look back to the games, for instance, against Dundee United and Aberdeen, their keeper has been man of the match, which says quite a lot.[LNB]"But we've not been as clinical in front of goal as we would have liked. We have to look at that and try and address the situation on Saturday.[LNB]"We have to be a bit more ruthless and, at any cost, get a goal.[LNB]"Obviously when you are at the wrong end of the table, there will be questions asked.[LNB]"But we have to look towards the game against Hearts to start climbing up the league.[LNB]"We have three of our next four games at home and it is massive we take some points from them.[LNB]"You don't want to be looking behind you all the time, you want to be looking forward and with these home games we want to progress."[LNB]Hearts, who finished third in the SPL last season, have also struggled so far this season and could also go bottom if results conspire against them[LNB]Hamill is not surprised at the Jambos' predicament.[LNB]"It's a tight league," he said. "Every team in the league is capable of beating anybody so I'm not really surprised.[LNB]"Obviously it is a big game for us and Hearts on Saturday. But you can't look at going bottom of the league, you have to look forward to getting three points."[LNB][LNB] Kilmarnock 13/8, Hearts 13/8, Draw 12/5
