Tough decision for Johnston

Kilmarnock's veteran winger Allan Johnston is facing the end of his career if he decides not to undergo surgery on a long-term hamstring problem.

The 35-year-old former Scotland international has not played for Killie since last season and is weighing up his options.

Manager Jim Jefferies told the Herald: "Our physio spoke to a specialist down south who has done this type of operation.

"He knows the case as Allan has been down there and he said this is a last resort. So we've to let him know if Allan wants it done.

"I've asked Allan what his thoughts are, but if he wants to continue playing football then he's going to need to get the operation done.

"It's up to Allan to make a decision as to whether he wants to continue playing or not."
