Smith snubs Killie offer

Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies has confirmed that goalkeeper Graeme Smith has rejected the offer of a new contract from the Rugby Park club.

The 24-year-old has been at Rugby Park since the summer of 2000, but feels that the time may be right to try his luck elsewhere.

Jefferies said: "Graeme Smith unfortunately for us has turned the offer down and he maybe looks to try and get a better offer elsewhere.

"That's his prerogative and we hope he gets it and does well, but we have to work within our budgets."

Smith has made 47 appearances for Killie in total and has been battling with veteran Alan Combe for a starting spot this season.
