Skora forced to retire

Kilmarnock midfielder Eric Skora has been forced to retire after failing to recover from a long-term knee problem.

The 26-year-old Frenchman has made just one appearance during two years with the club and has now been forced to call time on an injury-plagued career.

"Eric is having to retire from football because of knee problems he has had over the last few years," assistant manager Billy Brown told the Daily Record.

"He has had a series of operations, attempted comebacks and we thought he was going to make it.

"It is a massive blow for us. He is moving back to France to start a new life and everybody at Kilmarnock wishes him all the best."

Meanwhile, midfielder Jamie Hamill is set to sign a new contract at Rugby Park.
