Shiels confirmed as Killie assistant

Scottish Premier League club Kilmarnock have confirmed Kenny Shiels as the club's assistant manager.[LNB] Shiels joins the backroom staff at Rugby Park following the appointment of new boss Mixu Paatelainen.[LNB]He takes on the role after three years as head of youth at Tranmere Rovers.[LNB]Shiels' CV also includes spells as manager of Coleraine, Ballymena, Larne and Carrick Rangers, as well as being coach of the Northern Ireland under-17 squad, which he took to the European finals.[LNB]A statement on the club's official website read: "On behalf of all players, management, staff and supporters at Kilmarnock Football Club, we welcome Kenny to the club."[LNB]
