Sammon out to break duck
11 Sep 2008 - 14:01:16
Kilmarnock striker Conor Sammon is hoping to get off the mark for his new club on the biggest stage.
The summer signing from Derry City has drawn a blank on his first three SPL appearances for his new side, but is hoping to break his duck when Killie visit Ibrox to take on Rangers on Saturday.
"These are the kind of games you dream of playing in," he said.
"Going to Ibrox, in front of 50,000 people, I've dreamt of playing in that kind of arena.
"I've watched games from Ibrox and Parkhead and the Old Firm are the top teams in Scotland, so for us to be up there with them is a huge plus and it'd be great if we can stay up there.
"It would be the perfect time for me to get my first goal, that would be a dream come true. Hopefully I'll get the rub of the green and get that goal."
