Paatelainen sticking with Kilmarnock

Mixu Paatelainen has pledged his future to Kilmarnock as he distanced himself from speculation he is an early contender to manage his native Finland.

The Kilmarnock boss guided his side to a third straight 3-0 Clydesdale Bank Premier League victory as they outplayed Hamilton at Rugby Park courtesy of Ben Gordon's first goal for the club and a Conor Sammon double. With Stuart Baxter having vacated the Finnish position, however, Paatelainen's work has seemingly not gone unnoticed.

"It absolutely flatters me, but that's all there is to it. I'm totally happy here. There's no point saying anything about it," said Paatelainen.

"I'm delighted here working my socks off with the boys and enjoying the good vein of form. Let's not destroy it.

"They [the Finnish FA] haven't asked anything so there's no point commenting."

Paatelainen wanted instead to focus on his team's impressive display after a repeat 3-0 scoreline of recent away trips to Hearts and St Johnstone.

He added: "Hamilton pressed us well at the start, but the movement from the boys was fantastic and we found holes.

"It's up to the boys to produce it every week now because they've set their standard here. There will be difficult days as well, we won't win 3-0 every week, but at the moment we should enjoy it."
