Paatelainen praises in-form Sammon

Kilmarnock manager Mixu Paatelainen paid tribute to Conor Sammon for showing the value of a striker staying confident. Sammon endured some unhappy games earlier this term with some poor finishing spoiling all his hard work in front of goal. Those missed chances were forgotten, however, with a well-taken second-half double against Hamilton to propel Kilmarnock to a 3-0 win after Ben Gordon had opening the scoring before the break. Paatelainen said: "Conor was unplayable. He's in a rich vein of form at the moment and hopefully that continues because it's important to have a striker in form. "Being a striker myself, I know that you miss chances. It's important to realise every striker does and keep your head together. You have to keep making the runs and get in the positions, if you do you score goals and Conor's believing that and been fantastic for us. "The clean sheets have also been key in this run. The way we defended as a whole team was excellent, they worked their socks off. I'm also delighted for Ben Gordon to score his first goal, right peg as well, cutting inside for a composed finish."
