No extra cash for Killie boss

Killie won their first derby game since 1994 on Thursday night when they beat Ayr United 3-1 in a fourth-round replay at Rugby Park to book a trip to Inverness in the next round.[LNB]The replay, attended by 11,563 - Killie's biggest crowd of the season - was televised live, which also boosted the Ayrshire club's income.[LNB]However, Jefferies says he will not see any extra cash as he seeks to bolster his squad before the January transfer window closes.[LNB]"I think both clubs were grateful for the extra money," he said.[LNB]"The replay wasn't something we had budgeted for.[LNB]"We got television money and there was also over 11,500 fans there.[LNB]"But the trip to Inverness is not a huge money-spinner for the club.[LNB]"I wanted to bring in players before we got through to the next round and I will still be looking but (in terms of money available) nothing will change."[LNB]Jefferies, however, is hoping to benefit from the feelgood factor among the Killie support when Hamilton visit in the Scottish Premier League on Sunday.[LNB]Despite their recent poor home form in the SPL, Killie remain in eighth place, just four points behind sixth-placed Hibernian, which is where Jefferies is aiming.[LNB]He said: "If we had been beaten by Ayr, the atmosphere would have been flat and it would have been hard to lift the players.[LNB]"But we gave them the win they wanted. The fans got right behind us and we want them behind us again for the Accies game.[LNB]"It's a very important match for us.[LNB]"We have not been getting the breaks recently at home in the league but if we win this game, it keeps us in touch (with the top six).[LNB]"The teams around us have difficult games this weekend but we have to look after ourselves and go out and get the three points."[LNB]He added: "We have two or three players who can come in and freshen the side up.[LNB]"With all due respect, Ayr are in the Second Division, although they are good enough to be in the First.[LNB]"But this will be a different game, so we will freshen up and we have the players to do that."[LNB]Jefferies will be without striker David Fernandez, who picked up his 12th disciplinary point after being sent off on Thursday night when he lashed out at Somerset Park defender Martyn Campbell.[LNB]The Spaniard will miss a further two matches after February 5, which displeased the Killie boss.[LNB]Jefferies said: "There's no excuses for him. He was getting fouled in the corner but he is experienced enough and now we have lost his services."[LNB][LNB]
