Naismith will take on Gers

Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies has backed Steven Naismith to shine against Rangers at the weekend, with the Scotland forward having seen a move to the Gers collapse during the summer.

Jefferies is confident that Naismith will want to impress against the Dark Blues.

He said: "I would never consider leaving Steven out for this game as I know he'll be able to handle it.

"He's probably thinking 'I'll score the winning goal and show you what you've missed', and that's the attitude you should take.

"If they had paid the price he might have been playing for them.

"There has been a lot of speculation over the summer, but he's been able to handle it."
