Kilmarnock manager Mixu Paatelainen praised his players for retaining their composure during their 3-1 win over Hibernian on Wednesday.[LNB] With Hibs leading the Co-operative Insurance Cup third-round tie through an early goal from Jonathan Grounds, referee Willie Collum pointed to the spot after Sol Bamba had brought down Conor Sammon in the 24th minute.[LNB]But the referee changed his decision to a corner after consulting with fourth official Bobby Madden.[LNB]However, Jamie Hamill netted on the rebound five minutes later and Killie survived some pressure after the break before Hamill, from the spot, and David Mendes Da Silva netted within three second-half minutes.[LNB]Paatelainen said: "The fourth official made a call there. It's a new thing they do to make decisions right.[LNB]"Hopefully it's the right decision, I haven't seen it on TV yet. I'm perfectly calm though because we won. God help me if it was the other way round."[LNB]However, Paatelainen added: "I felt the referee was in a better position. He didn't hesitate, he pointed to the spot straight away.[LNB]"I can't praise the boys' character enough. It's a big blow, first being given a penalty and a chance to equalise, and then it's a corner kick.[LNB]"Nobody's heads went down and we went on to win the game."[LNB]Hibs boss John Hughes had urged the club's fans to boo him rather than the team following their weekend draw with Hamilton and a small section responded by calling for his head towards the end of their game.[LNB]Hibs have now won just four times in 26 matches but Hughes insisted his squad were determined to turn round their fortunes, although he denied radio reports of a dressing-room fight.[LNB]"I can tell you there was no punch-up in the dressing room," Hughes said.[LNB]"There were one or two raised voices but we soon put a stop to that. That happens every day in a dressing room."[LNB]Hughes also dismissed the chants as "part and parcel of football" and argued his side had played well enough to win.[LNB]"If we took our chances at the right time, we could be in the hat for the next round," he said. "The commitment was good and some of the football was good. The boys are hurting in there."
