Locke looking for Killie bounceback

Kilmarnock manager Gary Locke has welcomed the chance to take on Berwick Rangers so soon after their second 4-0 home defeat of the season.

Killie shipped four first-half goals against Ross County on Saturday and could have suffered further embarrassment but for goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald.

The Ayrshire club might have wrongly assumed they had endured their low point of the season after one game, and the Killie fans will now be fearing the worst ahead of the League Cup second-round clash at Rugby Park.

But Locke is happy for the chance to make amends.

Locke said: "We can't keep giving goals away and expect to win games. We need to rectify it - and quickly.

"It's early in the season and we just need to work hard, get the heads down and make sure that we respond.

"We've got another game on Tuesday night and it's about the only thing that's positive to come out if this game, that we've got a chance to rectify that performance.

"We've just got to rally round collectively as a team and make sure we are a lot more solid at the start of games - and stop losing such poor goals."
