Lilley agrees Killie contract
02 Apr 2008 - 12:14:22
Kilmarnock defender David Lilley is set to sign a new contract at Rugby Park.
Lilley, 30, is out of contract in the summer but has agreed a new deal in principle with manager Jim Jefferies.
The former Aberdeen and Partick defender has made almost 100 appearances during four years with the club.
"I spoke to the manager on Monday and it's just a case of crossing the 'ts' and dotting the 'is'," he told the Daily Record.
"The new deal puts my mind at rest and I can concentrate on my football now.
"I've been at Killie for four years and I love it here. It never entered my head to leave.
"I've had a few injuries this season but hopefully they're all behind me now.
"I need to make sure I keep playing well and prove to the manager in our last six games that I'm worth a starting place for next season."
