Leven rejects Killie offer

Kilmarnock midfielder Peter Leven is poised to leave the SPL club this summer after rejecting the offer of a new contract.

The 23-year-old former Rangers youngster has decided to seek pastures new after three years at Rugby Park.

Killie boss Jim Jefferies told the Daily Record: "We made Peter an initial offer and he turned that down so we increased it a bit.

"We've not had any reply back, so it looks as though he will be moving on.

"Peter has played a number of games for us this season, but you can only have so much in a budget and you have to work within that.

"If Peter feels he can get better elsewhere then good luck to him. That's Peter's prerogative as he is out of contract and is entitled to ask for what he is after."
