Kyle heroics impress Jefferies

Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies hailed hat-trick hero Kevin Kyle following his side's crucial 3-0 win at home to rock-bottom Falkirk.

Kyle gave the Bairns defence a torrid time at Rugby Park and helped Killie move six points clear of their victims, with Jefferies delighted by the former Scotland frontman's display.

He said: "He came up here having never played in Scottish football and has done terrifically well, even if he's had a bit of a tough time of it.

"He should take a huge lift from today - as should all the players. But we aren't out of the relegation battle yet, there are still some tough games to play."

Kyle himself added: "The linesman refused to give me the ball at the end. I was going to chase him for it, but you know what the referees are like up here, he probably would have given me a red.

"Anyway in the end he gave me it and I got all the boys to sign it, I'm dead proud."
