Kyle confirms Kilmarnock departure

Kevin Kyle has confirmed he will leave relegation-threatened Kilmarnock in the summer, but refuses to confirm if he will join Aberdeen.[LNB] The 28-year-old striker joined Killie from Coventry in January 2009 and has gone on to score 16 goals in 42 league games.[LNB]Kyle headed a crucial winner at Pittodrie on Wednesday, setting up a relegation decider with bottom-club Falkirk at Rugby Park on Saturday.[LNB]The former Sunderland man is out of contract in the summer and although he has already spoken to Aberdeen about a potential move, he is keeping his options open.[LNB]"It was probably a stick-on I would score against Aberdeen because they want me to sign for them," he told the Daily Record.[LNB]"Saturday will probably be my last game for Kilmarnock. I've been here for 18 months and I've enjoyed every minute.[LNB]"But I've got things I want to pursue and Kilmarnock haven't offered me anything so I can't wait for them.[LNB]"I've got options and haven't ruled anything out. Aberdeen appeals to me because of the history at the club."[LNB]Kyle struck eight goals in 11 games at the end of last term to help Killie beat the drop and he is hoping to bow out by keeping them up again.[LNB]Kyle has clashed with chairman Michael Johnston during a turbulent 18 months with the club and was jeered by his own fans during last week's home defeat by St Johnstone but he is determined to finish on a high.[LNB]Jimmy Calderwood's men go into Saturday's relegation showdown two points clear of Falkirk so a draw would be good enough to keep Killie in the Scottish Premier League for an 18th straight season.[LNB]"It would be lovely to top it off with a victory on Saturday," said Kyle. "I'd love to finish at Kilmarnock with them still in the SPL.[LNB]"I want the fans to remember me for the good times I've had, not the other stuff this season.[LNB]"I took all the plaudits last term and hope to do that again by getting the winner on Saturday.[LNB]"We had a lot of fans at Aberdeen and they sang from the first minute to last," he added.[LNB]"They'll come in their droves on Saturday and hopefully we'll repay them with a result that keeps us up.[LNB]"I have felt pressure this season. Everyone looks to me to get the goals and they're right.[LNB]"I was doing pretty well until Christmas but then had problems with the chairman and during the January transfer window I didn't know where my future lay.[LNB]"My head's been all over the place. But in the last month I've really enjoyed my football.[LNB]"Against St Johnstone I took a lot of stick from a group of fans as I came off so the goal at Aberdeen is for them. I got it bad for the first time since I've been at Killie and it's because they expect me to score goals and win games.[LNB]"That's fine but there are more players than me on the pitch. We're doing this for the Killie fans, it's their club. They've been in the SPL a long time and we want to keep them there."
