Killie suffer fresh Ford blow
22 Oct 2008 - 11:02:28
Kilmarnock have been hit by the news that defender Simon Ford faces around six weeks out of action with a hamstring injury.
The 26-year-old lasted just 16 minutes of the 1-0 weekend win over Motherwell and scans have confirmed a serious blow for Killie boss Jim Jefferies.
He told the Daily Record: "Simon's got a grade two tear and will be out for six weeks. It's a huge blow, especially on top of Ryan O'Leary being ruled out long term.
"Hopefully we don't get a spate of injuries now, although there are options we didn't have last year.
"The specialist was hopeful it wasn't torn on Saturday, but by Monday there was a lot of swelling."
