    Killie realistic over Naismith

    18 May 2007 - 14:24:08

Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies is resigned to the fact that Steven Naismith will leave in the summer to help balance the books at Rugby Park.

The newly-crowned Bank of Scotland SPL young player of the season has been linked with a host of clubs including Rangers and Celtic in recent weeks and Jefferies is under no illusions about Naismith's future.

"If we get an offer in that's acceptable and Steven wants to go, the money will go to the club. It helps our account, it helps bring our debt down and makes it a bit more manageable," he admitted.

"We don't have the wealth behind us. Managers come and go and players come and go but the club will always be here for the supporters.

"If I'm honest, I'll be very surprised if no-one does make an enquiry in the summer, but there are no guarantees about that.

"If there aren't any enquiries, we'll be delighted. If there are, we'll deal with it."
