Killie predict Sammon impact

Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies believes Conor Sammon can take the Scottish Premier League by storm as he matures.

The 21-year-old striker arrived at Rugby Park from Derry City during the summer and has already scored three times for his new club, despite being kept under wraps by Jefferies.

"Conor has acres of room for improvement, and remember he's just turned 21," he said.

"He has an extra gear and he can get away from defenders. But he is learning all the time and we know he's one for the longer term.

"You have to remember he was part-time not so long ago at University College Dublin and he didn't have long at Derry City.

"He has had to step up to the plate and he has done that. He has three goals under his belt and that will be good for him."
