Kilmarnock forward Colin Nish has been warned that the club's offer of a new contract may be withdrawn.
The 26-year-old has yet to agree fresh terms with the Rugby Park club, with Hibernian rumoured to be monitoring the situation.
Killie boss Jim Jefferies told the Daily Record: "If I sign someone before the transfer window closes the offer will be off the table. I have a couple of things in mind and spoken to the agents concerned.
"Nishy has first chance of the deal and if he takes it then fine, but I can't afford to wait until the end of the window and lose out.
"The door is still open. He just needs to check it and ask where to sign.
"We are prepared to give him a two-year deal with a year option that would provide him with plenty of security. We can't do any more."
