    Killie cool Naismith talk

    05 Jun 2007 - 08:39:50

Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies says his club have not received an improved offer from Rangers for Scotland international forward Steven Naismith.

Killie have already rejected an offer of around £400,000 for the 20-year-old, with reports suggesting an improved bid had been lodged.

However, Jefferies said: "Chairman Michael Johnston has just come back from holiday and got the first look at the offer over the weekend.

"He didn't think it was acceptable and there has been no increased offer yet.

"Steven's been called up to the Scotland squad and is with us for another three years, so he is valuable to us on and off the park.

"If we don't get a fair price for a player who has his potential then he will stay."
