Kilmarnock will look "closer to home" for their new manager after Thomas Haessler pulled out of the running to take over at Rugby Park.[LNB] Haessler has ended his interest in the post after holding talks with chairman Michael Johnston.[LNB]Killie have now been linked with moves for former player Gus MacPherson and ex-Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo.[LNB]MacPherson was sacked by St Mirren in May while Laszlo suffered the same fate in January.[LNB]Johnston told BBC Scotland: "Thomas Haessler has informed us he no longer wishes to be considered for the position.[LNB]"We have widened the net by looking beyond these shores, now we will look closer to home."[LNB]Johnston had previously seen an interest in Blackburn coach Steve Kean fail to come to fruition after the departure of Jimmy Calderwood was confirmed following his short-term reign.[LNB]Johnston added: "There's still plenty of time for us to consider our options before making an appointment ahead of the new season."[LNB]Other names to be linked with the post include ex-Dundee manager Alex Rae, who is now first team coach at MK Dons.[LNB]Former Rugby Park strikers Paul Wright, who is a youth coach with the club, and Lawrie McKinna, the manager of Australian club Central Coast Mariners, have also been linked.
