Johnston seeks Killie rise

Wednesday Mar 05 2008 07:30

Kilmarnock forward Allan Johnston says the pressure of being at the wrong end of the SPL table has affected himself and his team-mates in recent weeks.

Killie are currently tenth in the table, although a 1-0 weekend win over St Mirren eased the pressure on the Rugby Park club.

Johnston told the Daily Record: "It's horrible being down at the bottom.

"It's a different kind of pressure, it's difficult to really relax and enjoy your football as one mistake can cost you the game and you're right back in the thick of it.

"I think it has been on the players' minds. Plus we haven't had the same team for a couple of weeks in a row, the injuries have been unbelievable.

"But we're getting everyone back and hopefully we can push up the table now. It's all about how we finish this season and then what we can take into the next one."
